Why Soy Wax Candles?
- Soy wax candles are made from all natural compounds from a renewable and sustainable sources, a preferred alternative to the non-renewable petroleum-based paraffin wax.
- When burned, soy wax candles are clean burning and do not release harmful toxins into the air. Therefore better for our health.
- Due to the low melting point of soy candles, they burn cooler and longer, making it safer than paraffin. This feature allows the fragrances to be released into the air faster and they last longer.
- Soy wax candles burns longer than paraffin, an average of 25% to 50%.
- Soy wax is water-soluble, you can easily clean out your soy candle containers, glass and tin for refilling or efficient recycling.
- It can also be easily removed from fabric and other materials such as clothing and carpet with hot soapy water.
In order to make the soy wax, we need lots of soybeans, which are grown by farmers year after year. The soybeans are processed by crushing and pressing the actual soybeans to produce the soybean oil. Turning the soybean oil into soy wax is done by a process of partial hydrogenation.
Soy candles have a very high percentage of soybean oil, with a small percentage of other vegetable oil added to achieve better performance.
The soy wax used used in the soy candles and wax melts made by Divine Intervention Co. are all hand poured and are 100% vegetable fats.
Fragrance range information
It is important to note that the fragrance scented candles and wax melts are not considered or classed as an aromatherapy product nor do they have the therapeutic effects that essential oils can offer.
Divine Intervention Co. decided to create a fragrant range of candles and wax melts despite the fact that fragrances used in fragrance candles and in our "fragrance range" have not been used traditionally and do not have physiological effects (due to their inorganic molecular structure). In saying this however, the act of simply burning a candle and enjoying warm glow of the candlelight, welcoming different scents into our homes that we love, remind us of someone we love or bring back a happy memory, are known to have a relaxing effects and create calmness for those who take pleasure in the non aromatherapy options.
